Maintaining a healthy lifestyle while managing a lot can be tough, though, it is very important. Whether you are working a lot, going to school, raising kids, etc. you need to take care of yourself. You may feel “okay” now, but it’s only a matter of time before you see and feel the side effects of not caring for yourself. A lot goes into being healthy and staying healthy but some simple changes to your day can make a tremendous difference. Below are some simple things you should add to your everyday routine.

Healthy Lifestyle Tips
  1. Good start to your mornings – Start your morning by doing some morning stretches.  If you don’t have any time to yourself in the morning, you should wake up a little earlier, even five minutes makes a difference! Sit and drink some coffee or tea in silence, take in nature or a view you have. Taking a few moments of gratitude before the chaos begins can make the biggest difference in the rest of your day. Take a nice shower, to wake up. It’s always good to have some alone time.
  2. Nourish your body – Stop eating junk food. Stop eating fast food. Cold turkey… yeah right! That isn’t realistic for most people but watch your portions and the frequency of your favorites and introduce some new healthy options. Instead of eating packaged, processed snacks all day, try some fruits and veggies. Swap out that soda for water or a fresh smoothie. It is easier to ADD in healthy food, focus on that instead of cutting out everything. If you are unsure of what to make, everyone’s go-to Google has plenty of options! 3. Exercise! – Even if it’s only 10 minutes a day, you have to start somewhere! If you have a lot going on, making time to go to the gym isn’t always doable. Stand in your living room, in your office, or at the park while your kids are playing and do some quick workouts. 4. Take time off – Whether it’s a half-day or a week, sometimes it’s necessary to take a break. Go on vacation, have fun, enjoy yourself! It’s good to give your brain and body a break sometimes.
  5. SLEEP!! Make sure you are getting plenty of rest. Don’t stay up all night binge-watching Netflix. Your mind and body need sleep to function properly. If you want to be at the top of your game physically and mentally make sleep a priority.

These small adjustments to your everyday life will make a huge difference. Start small and do not make it a chore, small habits over time are more likely to stick.

Take care!
